Hi everyone! This is Andy and Amy, the co-presidents of TAW, and we’re super excited for the 2021-2022 school year. TAW has lots of amazing events planned for the year and we look forward to seeing all of you there! Keep scrolling to learn more about our departments and upcoming events.

Special Events focuses on fundraising and organizing TAW’s biggest event - Night Market. Throughout the year, we host multiple fundraisers to give back to the community, hoping to share this experience with you all! We hope to create an authentic Taiwanese Night Market experience full of authentic food, games, and performances making you feel closer to the Taiwanese culture.

Promotions is all about letting you know who we are, what we do, and what we stand for. We take charge in a variety of graphic materials, such as our famous gifs you can catch on our Instagram to general updates we have for you across multi platforms! This year we strive to continue building our materials to share with you. If you have any skills, or interests in learning, we focus on graphics; as well as videography and photography. Promotions may seem heavy, but with such a tight-knit and skilled group, you not only learn more but get to work with some of the most amazing people.

External Events focuses on organizing events for TAW’s general members to bond and learn more about Taiwanese culture. Once a semester, we host our Annual General Meetings(AGM), bringing the Western community together. Our other past events have included Karaoke Night and Board Game Night; as well as collaborations for our two-day Paint Night event, and charity basketball tournament. This year, we wish to improve the general member experience throughout the year and also continue to collaborate with a variety of campus clubs.

The Finance Department is the engine of TAW. We help with securing sponsorships, grants, and budgets for all of TAW events. We are responsible for ensuring each event is funded to provide the best quality for all of you! If you have any interest in finance or want to learn more about it, the department welcomes anyone, regardless of their experience level, with open arm$!

Internal events is responsible for organizing initiatives to support and promote bonding among TAW executives. We are the heart of our team. Our past events have included dumpling night, karaoke, Christmas potluck, Reading Week trips, and hot pot night! We also set up intramurals, study resources, and a yearbook for TAW execs. If you love creating a “family” atmosphere and planning social gatherings, come be a part of our team!
